Rachel Simmons, Author and Bullying Expert, Visits LB/Chicago

Last week, Rachel Simmons came to visit the P&G Secret team at Leo Burnett Chicago.  As an advisor and spokesperson for the Secret “Mean Stinks” campaign, Rachel came to lead an all-day work session where she shared her bullying presentation, which she gives to girls and parents across the nation, and we took her through our latest work.

We spent the day collaborating and brainstorming new ways we can make an impact on the lives of young girls.  With her expertise on the subject and our creative vision, together we are on a mission to give girls the tools they need to put an end to bullying.

Rachel is the author of the New York Times bestsellers “Odd Girl Out: The Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls,” the first book to explore the phenomenon of bullying between girls, and “The Curse of the Good Girl: Raising Authentic Girls with Courage and Confidence.” She has appeared on Oprah, is a frequent contributor to the Today Show and appears regularly in the national media.

As an educator, Rachel works internationally to develop strategies to reduce bullying and empower girls. As the co-founder and program director of the Girls Leadership Institute, she works with schools and organizations around the world.

Rachel has been a great partner on this mission to end girl on girl bullying and it was a great pleasure hosting her for the day.  Learn more about how you can get involved to end girl on girl bullying at http://www.facebook.com/meanstinks.
