Behold, a Fruitful Harvest
Ideas don't grow in a void. They grow in a cloud of conversation and collaboration, activity and energy. Harvest, a digital installation conceived by the Department of Design and the Creative Technology group, represents that truth in the form of a digital tree. The tree, which launched today, lives at the Museum of Contemporary Art as part of Chicago Ideas Week, cycles from sapling to maturity, growing according to movement, sound and the size of the crowd. MCA visitors can directly affect the tree, brushing off leaves and causing its branches to sway, while tweets to #CIW and @leoburnett cause the tree to bear flowers and fruit. Visit the tree, make it grow and stay tuned for the making-of video to premier on LB's Vimeo channel next week.
