NCAA "Talking Bench" Talks Some Serious Smack
The NCAA raised its eligibility requirements for student athletes, and Leo Burnett Detroit has employed a "Talking Bench" to drive the message loud and clear to high school athletes.
Starting in 2016, high school seniors will need a 2.3 GPA instead of a 2.0 to compete in Division I athletics. The spokesperson? A "Talking Bench" with a smart and sassy mouth.
Caught on hidden camera, the bench makes it crystal clear to high school athletes just where they'll sit if they don't make the grade. Watch the YouTube video that captures the candid reactions of the students.
The campaign kicked off in January with an online video and a 30-second PSA that will debut on Turner networks, ESPN, CBS Sports and CBS. Additionally, a real "Talking Bench" will be featured during the NCAA Final Four.
