Worst Day in Advertising
Last night a few celebrated industry folk gathered at the B.B. King Blues Club in midtown Manhattan for one of the more self-deprecating events of Advertising Week: “Worst Day In Advertising.” The second annual StorySLAM! was sponsored by The Moth, Organic and our good friends at Contagious.
In true Moth form, ten brave souls took the stage to share brief stories of embarrassment and humiliation. A sampling of topics covered include a bizarre trip to a client’s cat food factory, a social media stunt gone horribly awry and a bloody photocopying incident that threatened a multimillion dollar pitch.
Each tale of woe was judged by select experts, many who shared their own stories during last year’s event, including Leo Burnett USA CCO Susan Credle. At the end of the evening, the crown went to a retelling of the behind-the-scenes craziness involved in this highly publicized promotion.
