Make no Mistake, Firestone is a car Company

Whatever you drive, drive a Firestone. With over 100 years in tire experience, servicing over 11,000 makes and models, Firestone's new campaign created by Leo Burnett Chicago wants to remind America that although it has never made a car, it still is a car company.

Whatever you drive, drive a Firestone. With over 100 years in tire experience, servicing over 11,000 makes and models, Firestone's new campaign created by Leo Burnett Chicago wants to remind America that although it has never made a car, it still is a car company.

"There is only one car company in America that's never made a single car. While you won't find any Firestone cars on a showroom floor, they're out there running better, faster, stronger, longer. We help trucks do more truckin'. Give muscle cars more muscles. We keep SUVs king of the mountain long after the new car smell has faded..."

Narrated by Trace Adkins, the TV spot "Anthem" kicks off Firestone's new branding campaign entitled "Drive a Firestone" and was featured during the IZOD IndyCar Series Grand Prix of Baltimore IndyCar race.

Accompanying "Anthem" are two additional TV spots, "Test Track" and "Horses," four broadcast ads along with print and radio spots.

"The simple truth we've uncovered is that even though Firestone never made a single car, Firestone is a car company," said Charley Wickman, Executive Vice President and Executive Creative Director, Leo Burnett. "Because in all their years in business, they've helped to make millions run better, faster, longer and stronger."

Firestone was recently recognized in New York Times' Media Decoder blog written by Stuart Elliot. In the blog, Elliot comments on how the launch of this campaign sheds a new light on the Firestone symbol, the service and reliability Firestone has to its drivers.
