#WhatIfChicago Rallies For Solutions over Illegal Gun Control in Chicago
The City of Chicago and Chicago Ideas Week (CIW) have launched an interactive social media campaign titled #WhatIfChicago, which encourages people to offer up their ideas on solutions to reduce the number of illegal guns on the streets of Chicago.
This citywide initiative, created by Leo Burnett Chicago, asks citizens to join the conversation on Twitter by tweeting their ideas with the hashtag #WhatIfChicago. The best ideas will be discussed and deliberated by a panel of gun control activists, law enforcement officials and policy experts during CIW. The panel will take place on Thursday, October 11 from 9:00-10:30 am at gravitytank and includes:
•Frank Main, Reporter, The Chicago Sun-Times
•Michael Skolnik, Political Director to Hip-Hop Pioneer and Co-President, GlobalGrind.com
•Garry McCarthy, Superintendent, Chicago Police Department
•Annette Nance-Holt, Firefighter, Chicago Fire Department
•Nina Vinik, Senior Program Officer, The Joyce Foundation
•David Hemenway, Professor of Health Policy, Harvard School of Public Health
This problem has proved to be too big for the police, journalists, academics and civilians to solve independently so we ask that you join together in the effort to help solve illegal gun violence in Chicago. Join the discussion at #WhatIfChicago.
