Leo Burnett Chicago took home 30 metals at this year’s Clio Awards, including 4 Grand Clios

Leo Burnett Chicago celebrated a monumental night at the Clio Awards, and the top honor of Agency of the Year.

Leo Burnett had a strong showing at the 2022 Clio Awards, collecting 30 awards, including “Agency of the Year.” The agency was honored for its work across a number of clients, including Wingstop’s “Thighstop” and Beam Suntory’s “6ourbon 7ime.”

Leo Burnett Chicago’s anti-gun violence campaign for Change the Ref, “The Lost Class,” earned 4 Grand Clios in Print, Direct, Experience/Activation, and Integrated Campaign.

“The Lost Class” campaign brought Leo Burnett and Change the Ref together to stage a graduation ceremony for a fake Las Vegas high school. Pro-gun advocates unwittingly delivered a speech to 3,044 empty chairs, one for each of the Class of 2021 students lost to gun violence. This powerful effort drew attention to gun violence, culminating with a petition to require universal background checks.

In total, “The Lost Class” campaign earned 22 Clio trophies, including Advertiser of the Year for Change the Ref and Production Company of the Year for Hungry Man Productions, the production company behind the campaign.

Leo Burnett took home four design awards for “6ourbon Time” and a brand development award for “Thighstop”.
